Ableton Live doesn't support ARA. If you align vocals with VocAlign or edit them in Melodyne, that has meant playing every take into the plug-in first and bouncing the result back to a clean track. null.audio 1.0 removes those steps. It runs an ARA host in the background and connects it to your clips in Live.
ALIGN: VocAlign without the capture pass
Select the Guide in your Arrangement and press Set Guide, then the Dub and press Set Dub. Press ALIGN and VocAlign Pro or Standard opens with both clips already in it. Shape the alignment as usual, then Commit: the aligned Dub goes back on its track, in the same place, with its name, gain and colour, and your vocal chain stays where it is. Revert puts the Dub back as it was.
One Guide can take up to eight Dubs, with every VocAlign ALIGN works with. Find Dubs lists the clips under the Guide and ticks the vocal takes for you, VocAlign opens with all of them, and one Commit puts every aligned double and harmony back on its own track. Right after Set Guide the panel already offers the takes it found, and after a Commit it remembers which tracks held your Dubs. Tick "Align found Dubs right after Set Guide" and the whole stack is one press.
EDIT: hear every edit in the mix
Select a clip and press EDIT. It opens in Melodyne, SpectraLayers, RePitch, Vovious or NoiseWorks VoiceAssist, with no recording pass. The EDIT Bridge, a small plug-in on the clip's track, plays your edit in Live in real time, so you hear each change against the rest of the song while you make it. Commit puts the edited clip back on its track; Revert puts the original back.
Both work with warped and stretched clips, and every action can be mapped to a key or MIDI control.
