Changelog

What changed in each version.

ALIGN and EDIT share one app and one Live device, so one version number covers both. null.audio tells you when a new version is ready.

Releases

  1. 1.0.1null.audio 1.0.1

    Shipped

The first public release: ALIGN and EDIT for Ableton Live on macOS and Windows.

    Added

    • ALIGN: set the Guide and the Dub in Live's Arrangement and VocAlign Pro or Standard opens with both, with no capture pass. Commit puts the aligned Dub back on its track; Revert puts it back as it was.
    • ALIGN with several Dubs: align up to eight Dubs against one Guide in one pass, with every VocAlign ALIGN works with. Find Dubs lists the clips under the Guide and ticks the vocal takes; Add Dub adds the clip selected in Live; Clear Dubs starts over. Commit and Revert work on all Dubs together.
    • ALIGN finds your Dubs: right after Set Guide the panel offers the clips it found, remembers your Dub tracks per Set after a Commit, and with "Align found Dubs right after Set Guide" one press on Set Guide adds them and opens VocAlign.
    • The device and panels follow Live's light and dark themes.
    • EDIT: open a clip in Melodyne, SpectraLayers, RePitch, Vovious or NoiseWorks VoiceAssist with no recording pass, hear every edit in the Live mix through the EDIT Bridge, and Commit the edited clip.
    • Warped, stretched and transposed clips are prepared for you (Auto-prepare warped clips).
    • Every action can be mapped to a key or MIDI control in Live.
    • One signed installer for macOS (notarized by Apple) and one for Windows, with the null.audio app, the null.audio device for Live and the EDIT Bridge.
    • Licence keys through Lemon Squeezy: two computers per licence, works offline after activation.
    • A daily update check. Download takes you to null.audio/download, where every version is free to download; your licence key unlocks what you bought.

    Since the 1.0.0 test build

1.0.0 went to testers only. 1.0.1 adds:

    • Find Dubs recognises more track names for harmonies and doubles: plurals and short forms such as harms, harmonies, hrm, doubles, dbls, dubs, adlibs and bgvs, and German names such as Harmonie, Stimmen and Dopplung.
    • EDIT says clearly when null.audio is in use in another user account on the same computer, instead of a technical error.

    Known limitations

    • Needs Ableton Live 12.3 or later with Max for Live. On an older Live the device says so and doesn't start.
    • Arrangement View only. ALIGN aligns up to eight Dubs against one Guide at a time. EDIT works on one clip at a time.
    • Intel Macs are untested.
